Common questions
What does house demolition cost near Evansville?
Angi's 2026 national average is $15,800, with most jobs $6,000 to $25,000. Local prices depend on size, access, disposal and asbestos. A site visit gives you a real number.
Do I need a permit?
Full structures need a demolition permit from the city or county building department. Many places also require permits for garages and larger outbuildings.
Who disconnects the utilities?
The owner or contractor coordinates with the gas and electric utilities and a plumber to cap water and sewer. Most jurisdictions require this before demolition.
What about asbestos?
Older buildings should be inspected before demolition. In Indiana, IDEM says buildings must be inspected by an Indiana-licensed asbestos inspector before demolition or renovation, except residential buildings with four or fewer dwelling units, and anyone generating regulated asbestos waste must follow disposal rules and local ordinances.
Are you a demolition company?
No. We're a free referral service that connects property owners with independent local demolition contractors. They do the work and set their own prices.
Is there a fee?
No. The referral is free and there's no obligation.
